Suggested upgrades for new Jeeper?

A regear does not just enhance off-road performance, it does just as much, if not more for on-road performance. Best mod I ever did.

Simple things like:
A Spidershade
A good sound system
Removing labels from visors (use a hairdryer)

One good upgrade you will never regret is a cable shifter for the transfer case. Another thing, spending money on in-depth maintenance always pays dividends. I live in a hot area so I replaced the entire cooling system before waiting for failures. That was the beginning of an OCD decent into component replacing hell.

Full time lockers are sturdy but outright dangerous in snow and rain. The road handling will suffer greatly and is hard on a vehicle.,If it is a dedicated wheeling rig these the the way to go but not for street use.

Like anything, you learn how and when y=to use them. For me, selectable lockers are the best. I'll never drive a 4x4 without them. DANGEROUS??? if you feel that way get a transit pass or learn to drive. A Corvette is way more dangerous in an unskilled drivers hands. Yes, lockers change the steering dramatically. So does any part time 4WD. Lockers just add to the drama.

On lockers , look at plumbers avatar . Look what he is driving up. That is what lockers are for...they give you surgical control in very technical terrain.

Are they must? Pretty much in stuff like that . Elsewhere a stock Jeep will get it done.

Yep, looking at buying anything used... I walk if it has a bedliner. They have zero positive benefits. Pickups included. The stuff is shit.

That's true , they always help, but if a stock jeep could not survive in the wild without them , all that would have been made would basically be rubicon's. There are times , though , that they make ALL the difference, and half way up something isn't the time to figure that out . I'm all for 'em.

I just pulled the visors off and put them on the other side... It does make the interior look nicer.

if you're going to run larger tires regearing is not just hopping one up.. it is really a necessary correction of ratios in order for the engine and drivetrain to produce optimal horsepower and torque at the correct RPM and transfer that to the ground.

It is basically fixing what the big tires did to the ratios.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their expertise. It really helped me narrow down my focus a little bit and gave me some valuable insight as someone new to Jeeps.

I remember that thread. A good thing about this forum is that people don't usually get raked over the coals for starting a thread that has been started 20 times before. I admit, though, I am guilty of getting onto people for not taking 5 minutes to use the search function. Thanks to @Chris for administering a forum that allows newcomers to ask whatever they want and not get lambasted. I know there are times when you have to read 30 pages in a thread to get all the answers you are looking for. Sometimes it's best just to ask again with specifics so you can get the answer.

I never want that to happen. I see it happen on social media and other forums all the time.

People seem to forget that if we told everyone to "do a search", eventually discussions would come to a halt entirely. Besides, that's no way to treat a new member anyways. It was always so off-putting when I'd join a forum in the past and the first thing people would say is "Use Google", or something.

To be honest I try a search before most ALL my questions. I don't know why (other than I am retarded with a computer) but I rarely get something relevant to my question, even though I know it must have been asked a hundred times before.

Hot coals! Posting a link to a thread and asking if it was close enough to what you were thinking is definitely raking you over the coals. Somebody has to keep you new guys with only a few thousand posts inline.
