My son has a 2000 wrangler with 2.5 4cyl manual trans with 4.11 gears, my daughter has a 2004 wrangler with 2.4 4cyl auto trans and 4.56 gears. I was thinking about doing a gear swap since he wants bigger tires and wants to go off roading and she doesn't. Is there any concerns i should have. The spec sheets say the rear ends are the same.

Doing a gear swap would be a very difficult process that requires a great deal of expertise and special tools. Just swap the axles, they can be swapped between vehicles far more easily without any problem.
Thanks for the input, is there any other concerns that i should be aware of.
Living in PA I would soak every single nut and bolt with Acetone/PBblaster/kroil/etc... for a few weeks in advance.
Honestly, 4.56 would be better than 4.11 but I still wouldn't run larger than a 31" tire on them.
