I gotta get up to that one sometime. Looks like fun combined with a history lesson for the kids.

It’s a super fun section which ties into Bunce School Rd, there’s an old school house from 1800s still there too. Th plane crash is crazy it’s spread over a few hundred yards. Engine turbine is at very bottom of the hill. Worth hiking all the way down
 
I did that trail several times when I lived in Colorado. The last time I was there was 2009. I managed it in a stock 1998 on 31's. I only scraped the skid a couple of times. I wondered how much it has changed over the years. The crash site is very interesting. Back then you could still just barely make out the scar left on the hillside. Finding and trying to identify all of the little parts was fun. It was still a little solemn knowing that 2 people lost their lives. Especially when finding some of the trim from the cockpit.

@06lj it’s amazing how much is left. I would have thought people would have pillaged more by now. It’s nice that people actually respect it as a grave site. The scar is gone but you can definitely tell where it hit and how it flopped
