I have a automatic locker up front and most of the time I use 4lo to go slow. Not something I need but since I'll have T-case apart might as well.

Sometimes in traffic I think about how nice it would be to put it in 4L and let it crawl instead of doing all the clutch work. But it's never been a frequent enough occurrence to justify opening up my transfer case, especially when I'm probably gonna end up with a hub kit anyway.

I wouldn't open the t-case just to install this to be honest.
 
I did find that feature handy for backing up trailers in my manual square body.
