Yep it helps.
And as far as the concern over breaking something here is my take.
Tons of rigs have had a twin stick t-case & many were modified for either front or rear only use. Yes if you're an idiot and plant your foot in the floorboard you'll break something. But front digs have been around for years and you use a good amount of throttle sometimes.

Yes it was straight forward. You might have to adjust some things to make sure you have enough lever travel.
2-low rear is not super critical but it can be nice. I like it on gravel roads between wheeling trails or moving a trailer or something.

Front digs period are cool. Adding cutting brakes only make them that much COOLER.
I liked it in mine when I had the 231. But it wasn't as expensive then either.

I usually think about 2 low on the days when I take the jeep to pick my boys up from elementary school. I think with 2 low I could idle through the pickup line without having to clutch through all the stop and go stuff.
But I need a hub kit anyway, so once I do that I'll just use 4 low with the hubs unlocked.

I solved that issue with avoiding having kids (so far… knock on wood, dont want jinx my streak)
Its easy on the drive train and easy on the steering when you are in areas that don't require 4x4 but just low range.
