Hi all, new to the forums. I have an ‘04 TJ, 4.0 with the NV3550 5 speed. It has 130k miles and just today started to make an awful high pitched screeching noise. It is still driveable but I don’t feel comfortable taking it anywhere as is. The transmission had been making some noise prior to this but nothing on this level. Anybody else have this issue / thoughts on what it needs? Assuming right now it needs a rebuild / new trans.
