I'm sure driving around with 4.88's, a 42RLE, and 37's isn't all that fun.
This is what caught my eye, which would suggest he doesn’t know too much after all those mods. That’s undergeared even for 33s. How does he even get that thing to move! Lol.

My guess is he went to a shop, said “shut up and take my money,” and they threw all that crap on for him.

And now the reaper (or in this case the REPOr) is knocking.

That's why I say he's probably open to a fair offer. That banknote isn't getting any easier to pay every month. And his wife is pissed he used up their kids college fund to customize it. Offer him 22k see what he comes back with.

That's the harsh reality of capitalism. If he balks and sticks to his number. He doesn't want to sell. His wifes just making him.
So true. I was on the phone today with a local dealership to inquire about a car. The sales guy said nobody really inquired about it but the owner loves it so it was priced high. I told the sales guy the same exact car was available for 33% less at a dealership in Texas (I'm in Connecticut).

The sales guy came back with a price reduction, but the Texas car was still over 20% less, and the sales guy said the owner really doesn't want to sell it and prefers to keep it on the showroom floor until he takes it.

Now I am trying to figure out the best way to get to Texas and get the car back to Connecticut. Crazy things we do for cars, but it is a damn fun hobby.

Fly there, drive, tow or piggyback back but don’t forget to factor in how much the trip to Texas and back is going to cost. Might make local more affordable. Probably want to carry a bud with you too.

All options I am pondering and need to figure out of to get the car towed back for the lowest price possible.

The local price is equal to a brand new version of the car, so I could build it on the Dodge website for less than my local dealer ship is selling a 2016 model.

My point was agreeing with @moab that some people don't want to sell something but feel the need to offer it out for a ridiculous price, similar to the LJR for sale in this thread.

I heard that is what I do not want to do as Texas prosecutes to the max for carrying a bud 🤪🚬

Oops, my bad. Not trying to get a fellow Tj’er in trouble. Disregard previous ‘bud’ suggestion. Good luck.

Why not have it inspected in TX and shipped to you? That seems more economical. I've done it with several vehicles I've purchased.

If you ever do go that route. I can highly recommend:

Not only does the owner want you to pay for all his "upgrades", he also wants you to foot the bill for the labor costs of installing them...

Nice ride, my ‘other’ choice of 2 door toy that I was looking really hard at was a Challenger. Drove a couple and sat in a bunch. But the Tj fits me better, both physically and philosophically. Brilliant minds think alike. My 3rd choice was the last version of the Ford Thunderbird in turquoise. But alas I don’t fit.

Yes it is a great car and we rented one last year and that closed the deal for us. They put a smile on your face when driving, in a similar but different way than the TJ/LJ. My other choice is a 2nd generation 3000GT VR4, but a Thunderbird would be a mighty fun car to drive.
