Tire Flat Spotting?

So how long do tires last when the vehicle is not moved or even started for an extended period? I think my BFGs are toast, man!

Are they dry rotted ?
My RV tires are 9 yrs old, sit for 6 months at a time quite often and still look new.

If a tire is going to sit dormant for long periods, i recommend treating them with a tire care product and keep them inflated.

Nah, these have been sitting in my carport for three years. No dry rot. They were darn near new when I started into my build. And that was put on longterm hold. I suppose I have to replace them with nearly no miles on them. What a waste of a grand. Oh, well.

What exactly is wrong with them that would require throwing them away ?

Bird: they sat for 3 years and thus lost their ‘round’.

Fill them with air and drive on them they will round back out.

Never hurts to try what ‘ac_’ suggests. I didn’t see where you live, but if you’re down south and catch a warm day, fill them up and give them a spin for the day.

3 years, they should be fine.

I leave my jeep for 2-3 weeks at a time. When I drive it after its been sitting, there is a noticeable wobble from what I believe is flat spots from sitting, but it clears up in about 3 miles.

Every single agressive tire I have owned did this when I parked on pavement and just for overnight. My new goodyears on my 4runner do this too.

It reminds me of when I ran LTBs. You could stick a bottle of yoohoo in the cup holder and it was well mixed after a mile.

I miss those days when the 31x11.5 ltb was $98 a piece.

Yea. I'm ordering parts for my overland trailer and the rims and tires are the biggest ticket so far. So they match my jeep.
