So, I currently have P215/75SR/15's (PO installed) on my 04 jeep, and they look like donuts on a Cadillac Fleetwood.
Without a lift, or spacers, what would be the biggest all-around tire I could run on it. I don't need anything real aggressive and an M+S would work fine. I'm good with changing just the tires, or wheels and tires if need be.

This falls under the category of I don't need new tires, I WANT new tires!

Thanks in advance for any input.

I’ve had 31x10.50 ko2’s that rubbed stock and I now have on a different Jeep 31x10.50 crappy no name brand street tires that do not rub stock. So if you can find some all season 31’s you should be good.

I you want new tires, you should want new wheels. A 15X 8 wheel with a 31 10.50 X 15 tire will fit perfectly.

215 to 235/75R/15 or 29/9.5 is the right size proportionately with no lift, thats 2 sizes up from what you have.
Factory had a 30" option but 30" is not 30"
29s look the same as 31,s on a 2" lift without the lift except they have about an inch less diff clearance for off roading. Your TJ looks like it aint going rock climbing anytime soon :)
Keep it "Proportionate" looking! 29s or max 30,s is my opinion unless you want big tires and then a a lift. :)

My 99 had 31 x 10.5 x 15 tires on stock rims when I bought it. They weren't aggressive tread but they rubbed on tight turns. To me, they looked way too fat.
I replaced them with 30 X 9.5 X 15 Firestone Destinations and optional "Gambler" wheels. The 30 x 9.5 tires were original equipment on '99 Saharas.
Pictures of before and after.
