I'm looking forward to going, Have an RV spot at Pack Creek RV Park. Doesn't look like the attendees list has been updated for quite awhile. Should I be concerned that I'm not on it yet or just show up?

Nothing to be concerned about. I just have to go in and manually approve people. I’ll do it today.

I have to announce I will not be making it this year to TJ Fest. Aside from my TJ still not being done (still waiting on my transmission to transfer case adapter), and my LJ Rubicon now needing a clutch, end links, shocks, a radiator and 02 sensors, I was offered an opportunity today at work to switch to a team I've been trying to get on for the last 3 years. Unfortunately the week they want me to start is April 26 which would that first Monday of TJ Fest.

Truthfully this sucks as Moab is a bucket list trip for me but at the same time maybe it's a blessing in disguise. I've been pushing to get my diesel swap done and now I have a year to get all the kinks out of my RHD TJ and be there for TJ Fest 2022.

I'm still going to keep an eye on this thread and follow along all the posts, pictures, and videos from everyones adventures this year. I hope everyone has a great time and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone next year.

Congrats on the job promotion, Grant.
...but, what is the East Coast TJ Fest caravan going to do now without their fearless leader/organizer?

Looks like Fins along with Hell's is doable on the same day, maybe?

I've been eyeballing Kane Creek Canyon lately. Any prior experience or interest?

Definitely doable in a day unless you decide to sit and watch at the obstacles on Hells.

Another note if it hasn’t been said, many of these are Jeep Badge of Honor trails so you should have the app ready to check in. Badges are free, might as well get them.

Trail List for me would be

Seven Mile Rim
Elephant Hill
Fins
Hells Revenge
Top of the World

The daughter and I always spend a day hiking to different arches. I would also be up for helping anyone New to Moab.
I also know my LJ can probably do more than the dumbass driving it..
LJs are good. Recommended loop if you start early: Turn right at Onion Creek south of Fisher Towers. You'll gradually ascend out of the canyon then the road flattens out. After a couple or so miles, you'll come to a Y. Bear left. the LaSals will be on your right. Don't go in that direction. At the Y you can see Top of the World looking North and West along the cliff top back towards the direction you came from. If you know where to look, with binocs, you can see the rock outcropping where everyone and soon you park their rides. The left fork of the Y will make a longish descent. After a while, you'll see Rose Garden Hill ahead. It'll look like a cobra rearing straight up about to strike with the veil a quarter mile straight up at the top. From the hiway to the bottom of the Hill is two or three hours including photography. Climbing the hill, you'll need to have had a tummy tuck unless you're on 35s. My old XJ on 31s did it easily, but my son's (LJ) without the tuck struggled on 32s. You should plan to summit rose Garden by noon. Everything from there is scenery and easy to moderate wheeling; you will continue to climb bearing left (north) after Rose Garden, eventually flattening out before deciding to head to the river northeast of the LaSals. Stay left to skip the Dolores R. overlooks. You'll just go over the summit heading back west. You'll descend for a few miles to the beginning (bottom) of Top of the World. Make another left to begin the long ascent. Half way up there will be a trail meeting up from the south, your (left), with your trail. You can use that to return from the top, like a loop road. It's quicker because it's steeper, but not difficult. Continue to the right on up; it's long, but you'll eventually get there. to come back just follow the rim road eastwards a short distance then you'll head down to meet up with the trail you came up. Back on pavement at the Colorado River bridge it's about an hour back to town.

Return the next day to hike the Fisher Tower trail, about three miles round trip. It's world class. Best to plan last half of hike to finish about sunset. Bring lots of water! Another great hike is Grandstaf Canyon (Formerly Negro Bill) about five miles round trip. Water coming out of the rock under the arch is safe to drink. Been to arches about twenty times; never saw the same thing twice. Biggest sleeper is Firey Furnace. Lines these days into park entrance often go out past the hiway with an hour or more wait. There's a Jeep trail going into the park; no lines. Since you're not new to Moab you should know where it is.

@tworley and I are thinking of going for the first half. We would arrive on Friday evening April 23 and leave sometime Tuesday. His first and my second time.

At the moment, we would do Fins and Hells on Saturday to get acquainted. The rest is undecided. But I know we would be looking for some of the harder stuff.
Long time listener, first time caller. I will be getting into town Friday afternoon/evening and heading out Monday sometime. Fins first thing Saturday sounds right.

If we start early enough. @rasband is now with Team Colorado. Other states are welcome to join us. We like to get up early and move quickly!
Wait wait... We're doing state teams?

I'm Team Utah, this entire trip is within my jurisdiction and I don't think I've seen your application come across my desk. Resubmit & we'll try to approve your movements as soon as possible.

Does a crisp 20 do anything to move this along?

My SIL and I will be making the trip this year for the first time.
We will be coming from Joshua, Texas just south of Ft Worth.
We have some light trail experience and have been to Ouray, but nothing like Moab.
We are hoping to learn a little and get to know some folks from the forum.
We are looking at a few "moderate" trails to get some experience and other scenic trails to see as much of Moab as possible.
Based on what we could come up with there are a lot of options.
If anyone has trail suggestions for moderate/easy scenic trails please let me know.
I have found that every book rates trails differently (I idid buy the Moab Trail Guide) and the best info comes from people who have been there and have wheeled the trails.
Probably Fins and Hells Revenge would push my driving abilities and my Jeep, so I was hoping we could tag with a group on those kinds of trails.
I do have my Jeep's mods in my profile if that helps.
Thanks
