Hey all,

I have a 2006 with about 150,000 miles on it. It started great this last Saturday and then when I tried to start it on Monday morning to go to work it wouldnt start. I had the battery tested and it wasnt that. There are no engine codes. All accessories turn on when i turn the key, but when i turn it to the accessory click on the ignition it doesnt sound like the normal sounds happen. It is silent even though all my normal dash lights come on. It does try to start over though when I turn the key all the way.
What do you think could be the problem??

Thanks in advance for the help!!

If the key feels loose in the ignition when you turn it compared to what you are used to the actuator pin may have broken. Normally the Jeep wont crank when this happens so the switch like @Trod286 suggested might be more likely.

Make sure your grounds are well connected. Mine wouldn't start because the ground cable was not tightened fully on the passenger side of the engine block.

Hey all new to the forum. I have an 05 TJ 4.0 that will crank but not start. Drove it into town yesterday and it ran fine. Came out of the store fired up made a circle out of the lot and it does and hasn’t fired since.
Today I replaced the crank and cam sensors and still nothing. I hear the fuel pump running when the key is on and I have no CEL codes to run.

Any help on this would be appreciated!

Have you tried slightly depressing the gas pedal when cranking? A stuck IAC in the throttle body will not let it start due to no air.

If you turn the key on off on off on, the PCM should display any codes in the odo and then done.

Check all fuses.

I would do these things:
1. Check fuses
2. Clean IAC(even if it does start, do this)
3. Check to make sure the battery sensor(underneath the battery) is all good
4. Check grounds
5. Check Spark plugs

Sounds similar to what my 06 Rubicon is doing. Turning my key to start it I have 0 noise 0 anything. Have you figured out what's wrong with yours? I think mine is the ECM the electronic brain of the Jeep. Hoping others will chime in and give me other things to check. I have no ground inside my fuse Box. Don't knows that is in fact the brain of the Jeep?

It was actually my fuel pump. I got that changed and haven't had any issues since.

On your other thread, you first stated no sound but then said the engine turns over but doesn't start. Which is it?
