TJ Wrangler Renegade (UK)

Here's one for your TJ history buffs. Last year, I bought a '06 Khaki TJ and it was registered in the UK as a Wrangler Renegade. It's not a trim I've heard of and I've been curious to see what the original spec would have been so I can try and restore it back. However, I did some digging and ran a VIN check through Jeep and they have the build sheet as an '05 Wrangler Sport with all the Sport badging. Found the original dealer but they've closed so I am back at square one. So my question is, why is it registered as a Renegade and what would that spec have looked like? I've pasted the Jeep build sheet and a photo of my Jeep below:

(Side note, it says below the original wheels were the Ecco wheels but then just under it also says "all aluminium wheels". Weren't the Eccos alloy wheels?)

I have had this EXACT experience you'll see a couple of my threads on it asking the same question.

I picked up the same, light khaki 06 TJ on eccos that was advertised as a renegade (complete with tacky renegade decals) but again the build sheet just states sport. Get this though, my vehicle logbook classifies it as a 60th anniversary which isn't possible

From the replies on the previous thread about this, renegade was a cj trim package but was never offered on the TJ in the states. There's an AA article online reviewing the TJ renegade so it's possible it was a dealer specific UK option - from what I can see the only difference to the sport is that mine has the optioned upgraded rear axle.

Very interesting. Seems like whatever it is, they're the same spec. Mine has the same interior as yours.

I don't know how a title happens in England but 30 yrs ago in Ohio I asked at the DMV why the VW Beetle I was buying was titled as a Beetle when the couple of Beetles before that were titled as sedans. Yeah, I’m not quite sure how it works. However, I did hear that for the ‘06 models the dealers wanted to shift them quick before the JK came in so they would cook up random promo trims to add to the Jeep.

Very possible. The Virginia DMV asked me what I wanted to title it as, since my AZ title said Jeep SPW type 2DSW. We couldn’t figure out if it was 2 door short wheelbase or 2 door station wagon. So we settled on 2D Sport Wagon if I remember correctly. Would have to look it up.
