I have a 2000 tj with the Dana 30/35 and 3.07 I want to move up to a 33” tire and decided a regear is needed the shop quoted me about 2,700 is this in the ball park or are they trying to pull a fast one?
It comes with the new gear ratio, install kit, carrier and spider gears with labor at 800 per axleAdding a Super 35 kit, chromoly front shafts, and lockers in both differentials could easily exceed that. I'm guessing that doesn't include lockers, but a LSD and new shafts could add up

It can happen. Schedule or ability could be conflicting here. So if the customer still insists the price makes it worth while. This isn’t always a “rip off” tactic, it’s usually just a way to try and turn down a job coming in that you don’t want to do.
Several above posts are very good.It can happen. Schedule or ability could be conflicting here. So if the customer still insists the price makes it worth while.
Having said that i think you need a little more specifics on the parts they're planning on using. If its essentially an axle upgrade alomg with gears...a possible LS/locker type thing...
Yeah that can start adding up. A lot of shops are afraid of this job too in fear of getting it returned with pieces parts floating about in the diff case
