Dana 30 3.73 carrier to 4.88

I have a 2004 sport that has the factory option for 3.73 rear axle gear ratio on the dana 35. Does this mean that the front dana 30 has a 3.73+ carrier? Im trying to regear to 4.88 on a tight budget and dont want to buy a new carrier if i dont have to.

If I am understanding you correctly.

Dana 30 carrier break is 3.73

Dana 35 carrier brake is 3.55

So if you are regearing to 4.88 you don't need to buy carriers.

Thats good to hear. I messaged rough country about this with their product and they said that it wouldnt work but sounds like they just didnt actually check.
