Torque wrench recommendation?

All, I have a CDI ft lbs torque wrench but wanted to get a inch lbs wrench for the smaller stuff. What do you guys recommend?

Torque wrenches.. like many other tools fall into the you get what you pay for category. I've gone through 3 cheap standard click-style torque wrenches before buying a digital snap-on. It's expensive, but covers everything I do and I get the calibration checked once a year. Cheapies i've owned were so out of whack it's scary.

I bought a digital luggage scale and found out my HF was 10lbs off...where would you send it to get a "real" calibration?

Best to just Google Torque Wrench Calibration in your area... I live in NASA territory here in Houston and use Rothe Precision Calibration & Metrology. It's $35 for wrenches up to 250 ft/lbs and unless you use it every single day, good to last for awhile. Using it in aviation, a yearly stamp is a requirement so I just do that and bring it home for use in the garage too. Just don't drop it lol

I had a cheapy torque wrench for in-lb and was tightening a bolt into an engine block and blew past were it was supposed to stop because I never got a click from the wrench.

Long story short, the cheapy ended up costing 3x the price of a good quality CDI wrench.

My recommendation would be a SnapOn analog for inch/pound work. Like this one on eBay.

Those HF ones are not very good, but at $10, you do get what you pay for. They do work, but not that accurate....but again, 10 bucks.

I have a Lowes Kobalt as my main torque, I have been hitting up pawn shops looking for snap-on and Mac tools, but no dice yet.

Hey guys check out offerup.com as well. I've seen a lot of pawn shops sell stuff on there as well as individuals. sorta like craigslist.
