so I came across a video where roadkill's David Freiburger was doing a quick walk around of his "generic jeep." I'll attach an image of the thing that caught my eye. He explained he uses the tow bar mounts with a couple hitch pins as a recovery point, what do you guys think about this? with a bridle, is this really an effective way to recover a tj with the stock flat tow setup? Just wanted to hear some thoughts and opinions on this, give me your $.02

When all you have is a hammer, everything is a nail.
And, having watched (and enjoyed) his shows, I would not take his ideas as neccesarily the right way to do things.

Depending upon how those tow points are bolted to the bumper there is nothing inherently wrong using one or both of the two 5/8" hitch pins to secure a strap. I would want to see the backing plates on the reverse side of the bumper.
