I’ve got someone who’s willing to trade their 2007 Jeep commander Limited edition for my 01 TJ.

now I’ve considered it cause I have my new born and I’m looking for more space but staying in the Jeep line. He told me that it’s good on space and come with the 5.7 hemi.
He put a 4inch lift and 32s on it. It’s got 214k miles on it. I’ve heard that they go for a while. Thoughts?

If your TJ is too much to haul the newborn, any SUV with a lift will end up being worse in the long run.

Even without the newborn, that Commander sounds like it has 4" too much lift and 100,000 too many miles to trade any TJ for it.

Just get a minivan. They're so awesome, you'll be able to load the kid in from either side with no step over and have about 78 cupholders from anywhere you reach.

Don’t get a minivan unless you want to loose your soul. Though if you supercharge or add a turbo, maybe you can come back.

My son’s teachers thought when I said “we did donuts in the parking lot before school today” meant we bought and ate donuts before school... but it meant my son was growing an appreciation for rear wheel drive.

Your son's teachers sound like a bunch of squares or really confused.

Commanders can be found for cheap and most I see are falling apart. I think they're good looking rigs set up right, but you would be on the losing side of that deal if it's an even trade, as the commander is only worth 4-5k and is hard to sell.
