So I'm New to this whole forum thing but I was told that I could get help with issues that I have with my jeep, so here it goes... So I have a 2006 stock LJ Rubicon, and I was driving up my driveway and i shifted into 4HI and shortly after, I put it in neutral and attempted to shift into 4LO but I couldn't get it to engage so I tried to shift back into 4HI but now I don't have anything and every time I move the shifter out of neutral, a loud grinding noise comes from the transfer case. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any idea if this is possibly a simple DIY fix and if it is, how someone like me could do it.
Please Help,
Thank You.

Are you attempting to shift the transfer case linkage at a dead stop? If so, that rarely works. Usually you need a very, very slow roll in order to get it to engage and move.

Also, are you trying to shift into 4LO when the transmission is in park or drive (assuming it's an automatic)?

Look up how to adjust the transfer case linkage, read owners manual on how to shift into 4 lo
