I have a 2006 Jeep (TJ) Trail Edition and am looking for trunk security that will allow me to keep my rear seat installed. Anyone have information to share? Everything that I have found (so far) will not work. This model/body style has a longer trunk space due to the Trail Edition (2' from back of rear seat to tailgate). Thanks in advance, much appreciated.

I'd like to have a folding steel deck to secure the trunk area AND keep my rear seat in place (in a perfect world).

Miss Lucy2, Tuffy Security put out a very good product. When I got my Jeep TJ in 2004, it came with the "Oversize Drawer". Although that item is no longer made, it is similar to the one linked above, only bigger. Since then I've added 3 more Tuffy Security Products for a total of 6 in my Jeep. And they are all keyed the same.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I found that drawer too on my search. I was looking/hoping for a "cover" type panel verses a drawer to give me a little more room to stuff all my "gear" in. I think I will have my guy fabricate something similar to this product.

Yea Lucy, no one makes a product like that for our years now. Part of the allure of owning the older generation. there are some pretty detailed plans listed up online for something similar to that. let me see if I still have a link. I used them when I tabbed up my wood one.

Here was the plans I used from a dude on JeepForum: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B9iLB89jPWBcOTNhMDJkNDEtYTNiMy00OWU1LTg5OTktYWEyZDY0OGI1ZWQ5

Good thread here on the subject too: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/lj-trunk-enclosure.4922/

Great, thank you very much. Grabbed those plans and will send off to my shop guy and have him make a template and will have him build out of aluminum and powder coat it.

Just have to say, that is a pretty sweet LJ, and a rare color combo with a stone white hardtop to match.
Not to mention its a rubicon on top of everything. Really nice Jeep and welcome to the forum!

That is a sweet LJ, love the body hardtop color match. I think one day I'm going to build an LJR on 35's with color body, hardtop, fender match and it will be my forever Jeep. ;)

One thing to consider.... if you have kiddos that will need extra leg room there is an easy mod to move the seat back about 4 inches by relocating the seat brackets and drilling 4 holes total. If that interests you, you might want to consider that before fab'ing up a box. I had to ditch my first box for a new one when I did exactly that. Then my son outgrew that space too. ;)
