Twist in coil spring spacers

Not really a question for solving a problem, just conversation - I was looking for coil spacers and came across a video and some other links for "twist in coil spacers" - they look like little pieces of black licorice. Not the spacer I have for my OME lift that sits on top of the coil, these are in-between the coils:

Also called "RUBBER COIL SPRING BOOSTER" in another listing.

Anyway, not sure why I have not seen these in the last 8 years I've had my Jeep, wondering if anyone has used them?

I had them in my first car…. in 1970.

Super old school “fix” for sagging springs. Also used to level a vehicle that had a rake to it’s stance…

I’ve never used them. I wouldn’t consider them for myself…

If you go off road they'd probably fall out and some poor kid would think he lucked out and found licorice on the trail, it would be terrible.

My 99 xj had 3 in each front coil when I bought it used a few years ago. I took them out right away and didn't notice a difference.
