The top one is a kit from some company, or has been in the past. The second will work fine as long as the aluminum bushings are bottomed out on the shock sleeve to keep the bolt from bending.

I've definitely seen the first one, and I'm almost 37% sure that it's a Clayton kit. Never really thought about doing it the second way; that's... innovative.
