The teraflex 4 inch short arm kit I'm looking at doesn't come with upper control arms. Is that a big deal or will the stock upper control arms work fine too with the lift

I'd recommend getting adjustable upper control arms. You'll need to adjust pinion angles to eliminate driveline vibrations. Double adjustable arms are easiest.
Any reputable brand should be fine. Teraflex, JKS, and other budget brands should be okay. Higher end products like Metalcloak, Currie, and Savvy are good options if you have the money.
(Better yet, look for a kit with adjustable upper and lower control arms included.)

Just finished my 4" lift with Rough Country fixed lower control arms. Works fine for me. Upper control arms fit fine (don't be afraid to use a ratchet strap if needed). No rear end vibrations that I notice. I thought I was hearing vibrations (yes, hearing not feeling which should have been my first clue). Turns out the muffler bracket at the back is broken and it's making a low rumble sound.
That said, I think I'm at the limit. If I do any wheeling and there's a lot of flex, the pinion is going to see a lot of stress. I ordered adjustable rear uppers and will verify my pinion angle.
I am not a fan of adjustable lowers for two reasons - 1) I've heard it's difficult to get dialed in without a professional alignment. 2) I've seen two cases where the control arm sheared off at the threaded rod. In one case, the vehicle rolled over at highway speed. Fortunately no injuries. Supposedly, Johnny Joints are over built and there are no instances where they've broken.
That is the extent of my internet experience
Oh yeah, and I have an '05 Unlimited.
