I’m getting a vibration around 50-60 MPH, only when giving it gas, which is during low RPMs in 5th gear. Any ideas? Tires were recently balanced and front u joint was changed and did not help.

Are you sure it's not the engine pre-detonating from trying to accelerate in 5th gear at too low of an rpm/speed which causes the engine to lug? 5th gear is an Overdrive gear which is meant for cruising, not accelerating. At 50 mph you should downshift to 4th to accelerate. Especially if you're running larger than factory size tires with the stock factory axle gears.

This may be related but I also get a vibration between 52-58 or so. It violently shakes but I can accelerate through it. At first I thought it was a poorly balanced tire(s) but now I'm on my 3rd test set and it's all the same. Haven't even been able to narrow down to which side it's happening on.

Does it ever happen if you were to coast at 55?

His profile states he had a 2005 model year, but does not say if it is manual or auto. As you know the 2005 has the 6-speed manual or 4 speed auto, so 6th gear is the overdrive gear.

OP - a couple suggestions, but certainly not all, but could be ball joints, check those. Also check your lift components to see if everything is tight.

Vibes that come in at 55-60 and then fade are generally dynamic balance issues. Rotate your tires front to back. If it changes at all it is a balance issue. If not you haven't spent a dime, follow everybody else's advice.

Where do you feel the vibration most? Steering wheel shimmy at the same time?
