Warn VR8 sale

Just found the Warn VR8 gen 2 on sale for $275, which seems like a steal to me for a warn winch. When I got one it said limited stock so I just wanted to share if anyone was interested.

I think you got the last one in the country! I checked stores within 120 miles of me.

You do know the VR line is made in China don't you? I'm not saying a winch made in China is a bad thing, I run one myself with no problems, but the "Warn or nothing" guy's are always bragging they are made in the USA and these are not.

Yes I am aware they are made in China. I was looking at a Smittybilt X20 which was about $500, I believe that is made in China as well. But $275 for a Warn Chinese winch is still a steal, its cheaper than harbor freight winches.

I'd rather have a $275 Warn winch made in China than anything with Smittybilt's or Harbor Freight's name on it that are also imported from China.

They're all probably made by the same manufacture. China is pretty good at making people sick, that I do know!

It seemed to want to work for me, put one into my shopping cart and went through most of the check out procedure without it complaining. Didn't complete the purchase as I'm not ready to buy a winch as yet.

Just tried it, got all the way through. When I hit Place Order I got an error message saying insufficient inventory. Bummer.

So just for grins I looked at this again this morning. It showed limited stock, and it let me place the order. Shortly after, it went back to out of stock.

It shipped this afternoon, but when I checked the tracking on FedEx the weight of the package only shows as 29 lbs.

So who knows what they actually shipped. A winch? A dozen VHS copies of Top Gun? 29 ponds of bottle caps? Could be anything!

It's supposed to deliver Sunday, I'll update if anyone is interested.

Look for the shipment facts tab. That should list the weight and dimensions.

I received mine yesterday, but it’s an ATV winch which explains the weight. After waiting on hold for an hour I was told what I figured was coming — they are out of stock and I won’t be getting one. Got a return label and will be sending this one back and getting a refund.

A bummer for sure, but I’m not out anything so it was worth a shot.

Thanks for the instruction, I missed that tab. Mine is 70.6lbs which seems more realistic.
