I know how he’s getting such great mileage. The engine is running on only one cylinder which equals .666 liters. So the engine is possessed by the devil !

now come on y'all this is totally believable ! we had a coworker buy a new truck and was boasting about his gas mileage and we all knew it was bullshit, so everyday we went out and put a gallon of gas in his tank. this went on for a month with him just telling everyone how great this new truck was ! well then we started taking out a gallon a daywell it went from bragging to somethings gone wrong and I must have a brake dragging or something is wrong with the trans and he took it to the shop to get it fixed, finally after a few days in the shop somebody couldn't take it and told him what was going on

we were pretty ruthless. everything from zip-ties on the driveshaft to innertube on the exhaust pipe ! you had to do a walk around before you left workThey did that on an episode of CHiPs.![]()
Actually by my calculations. I drive 6 miles a day. I filled up 6 gallons of gas on july 31st. My fuel gauge is still at A quarter of a tank which is 3 gallons left? Something around there. Even if i assume its two gallons left. Ive been getting over 40 miles to the gallon. In a 99 jeep wrangler 4.0
Please drive this Jeep for 3 full tanks of gas and do actual calculations , not estimates off gas gauge position.
My 99 TJ 4.0 5 spd. 4.10 get 15 - 17 mpg in mixed mountain driving at the best ever. To more than double this mileage , I find very improbable.
Please do actual calculations and multiple tanks of fuel , otherwise most of us will call absolute bullshit on your findings.
No hard feelings , just fact.
The best I ever got on mine was 19.5mpg a handful of times during it's earlier and smaller iterations. Typical back then would be around 15-16mpg. All of this was done with a cowl intake, which is far more of a cold air intake than a normal KN will ever be.
Wait a minute , this mileage actually seems possible . Are you replying to the correct thread ?![]()

The OP is not getting 30mpg. Nor did an air intake stop his engine from burning oil.
I just had to share this. Cause its still blowing my mind. I drive a 99 tj. These last two years. It just wouldnt want to start. Ive been able to get it to but taking multiple series of cranks. This last year, i decided to try a 20,000 mile k/n filter. Using the mixed synthetic castrol oil. I decided not to change my filter, during my typical oil change routine. Since i rarely drive 5,000 miles on a change. I change when it burns a liter and then gets dark. Usually this is around 2,500 miles. The first oil change, was very dark oil. Typical i thought. I hope this works. using this k/n. Its been the typical period where my jeep should have burned a liter... the oil is transparent still, a amber color still, , flowing on the dipstick like new oil...and it hasnt shown on the dip stick that it burned practically any oil. And the part thats blowing my mind is how my jeep is starting consistently on the second key turn. I still have a fault with my fuel pump.. but im gettin 30 mpg with the faulty fuel pressure return valve... so i save alot in gas money... but its alot to do with driving technique as well with my area’s subtle road pitch ,for why i get such amazing mileage. Its the perfect pitch that the wrangler will run at 1,100 rpm up and the. Free energy back home. So i just idle everywhere
My best ever was 22 mpg from Englewood to Montrose on 33s and 4.56 gearing, regularly saw 19 mpg.
30...absolutely no way. Even with a magic oil filter
