I only ask as I'm nearing the point where I'm going to need one...and I keep finding more situations where one would be really helpful. Leaning towards one in particular at them moment, but was interested in feedback on what you guys bought before calling the ball.

Maybe someone else will chime in. Mine seems capable but I haven’t proven it out to be worth the money at this point. I’ve only tried it twice.

All good, brother. Joking aside, while not my situation I understand your time is not your own when you've got a family. It wasn't by accident my father's favorite place was dropping a deuce on the blessed pot, I think he even named that toilet "Solitude". :D

Impatience being the better part of valor (I think that's how the phrase goes), I bought one last night... 🤪

I went with the Einstar Prosumer Portable. I read more articles and watched more videos on 3D scanners than I cared to yesterday and, in the end, this one seemed to suit best. I managed to get it $50 off, no tax and free shipping, I can't complain if it works out for my needs.

This is the one I've been eyeballing, like you said, gives you those higher temps. Price isn't bad either.

So far I really like the AMS HT, and if you are in the Bambu ecosystem it makes sense. I do with it could run standalone though as you must have the printer powered up for it to function.

I do have some Jeep jobs in mind for this think for sure, but I've been designing a strip built surfski for years now and things have stalled over the past few due to a desperate need for some kind of affordable-ish, usable 3D scanner and software. Hoping this is that device.
