What is this thing?

Putting in the new stereo. What is this thing?
It is spliced between the blue and red coming from the dash.

Looks like an auxiliary cigarette lighter socket. What’s the end look like?
 
The previous owner had a car alarm and bumper mounted spotlights. Before he sold it he pulled all that stuff out but left a bunch of the wiring.
 
That is some messy wiring. By the looks of it, I would check any wires going through the firewall and make sure they have a rubber grommet and not just a hole in the sheet metal.

It was a mess. My OCD kicked in and I had to clean it all up and mount it up with velcro.
I checked all the wiring coming through the engine compartment into the cab and everything looked good on that end.

I did rip out half of the dash and cleaned up all the dust build up back there. It was UBER gross.
