I would like to get my kid some nice rims for his graduation. He has a 99 TJ with a 2inch lift.
Can someone explain to me in simple terms what size rim to get? The tires currently are 31x10.5 15.

I would like to get his summer tires put on these rims but don’t understand the sizes.

Stock TJ wheels are best for those tires. I like Ravines, Canyon and the Alcoa wheels. Aftermarket wheels stick out, it looks silly. 15x8 or 15x7 with 5.5" backspacing, that's what you want.

Your idea of a nice rim might not be his.
He might want 18s or 20s.

He has you covered right here- and if you shop around you can find a good set reasonable typically.

We don’t know what he has now, might be one of these. Can you share a picture of current wheels?

15x8". 3.75-5" backspacing are the most common. The higher the backspacing number, the less they'll stick out past the fender flares.
p.s. If you have any extra money, you can get me these for my birthday. 🥳
