Where to run wires to swing out carrier?

I want to run my CB antenna mount to the mount on the swing out tire carrier. I will go through a hole I put in the bumper to run wires and zip tied to the carrier, but I can only see that I have have to punch a significant hole in the tub to get the head of that cable through to the behind the rear wheel area. I that where you punch through?

On a related note, if you live in the rust bucket area as do I, what do you treat the holes with to prevent massive rust?

Why don’t you run it through an existing firewall hole and run it along the frame to the back?

Well that just makes too much sense. That is why I asked.

It is a swing out tire carrier, so then I'd have to run a retracting wire. I run Savvy aftermarket rear lights so I am not sure those fit the aesthetics anyway.
