I think the Jeep JT looks sexy as hell. A 4wd, manual trans, 4 door truck that has Dana 44’s, 4:1 Trans case, a removable top and doors. It turns the mid size truck market on its head.

Its worth a mention that Jeep execs did their homwork (imagine that:cool:) and 80% of sales in the mid-size truck segment is from trucks with a crew-cab, four doors, and a 5 foot bed. So Jeep is going right after Toyota Tacoma sales, Ford Ranger sales, and Chevy Colorado sales.

Not only does it make sense to hone in on this percent of sales, it’s bad ass that Jeep/Fiat is taking the fight right to their competitor’s door(s).

Pricing: The base Gladiator Sport starts at $33,545 while the base Rubicon model starts at $43,545 — both not including the $1,495 destination charge. For those that want it all, FCA has indicated that a fully-loaded Gladiator Rubicon will run around $60,000.

Gas Milage Numbers:
18/23/20 MPG (city/highway/combined).

Im excited to see them out and about and go test drive one. Prices and gas milage numbers are set to be released on the 30th March.

What are your thoughts?

Riding doorless and topless is fun, therefore driving this will be fun.

It’s big in person, saw one at the autoshow. I’m a fan but the wife is not. I’ll be keeping my GMC Sierra as the DD and keep having fun with the TJ

I like it. If I was in the market for a midsize truck then I would defiantly give the jeep a drive. Once they drop the ecodiesel into the JT its going to be awesome. (but surely expensive) The ecodiesel in my ram 1500 gets around 22mpg average fuel economy and 26 on the highway. My guess is we will see a lot of these dragging their rear ends over obstacles at our local 4x4 parks and on the trails.

I'm planning to check one out at Jeep Beach next month. There are times I think I could get rid of my GMC Sierra and TJ for one but I dont think I will ever get rid of my TJ. Unless I find an LJ that I cant pass up.

I like that it will have the diesel engine. Other than that I could care less. But I don't need a midsized truck I need a full size truck so it doesn't fit what I want/need. Now some of the ones I've seen lifted and with larger tires look KEWL but unless I was just buying it for fun it doesn't work for me.

But I don't drive a small truck anymore.

Still love it. This truck is proportionally long, but larger tires will fix that somewhat. Many trucks aren't that sexy looking, but they do what they are designed to do. Most cars\trucks on the road are pretty ugly IMHO. This one isn't half as bad as some of them.

Any Jeep named after me has got to be something good. On 42's to correct that awful departure angle. But yes, I like the looks if I was into a truck. For off-roading I'll stay with the palindrome TJ

11" of ground clearance including skid plates? But then you look underneath and you're like, where exactly are the skid plates? Looks vulnerable to me...
