Wide Open Design has been in the Jeep scene for a while. I grew up watching WOD Jeeps crawl all over GreyRock ORV, Morris Mountain ORV, and other trails throughout Alabama. There is no doubt that their work is some of the best in the off road industry. WOD revolutionized the GM 14 bolt front steering axle.

Some Jeep porn for you guys from their latest Jeep builds. I hope this creates some motivation and sparks some new ideas for you guys because the work is definitely creative and unique.
Pics are from their SM and website.

Thanks for the pics. If I had the money that would be the way to go for a dedicated off road rig. From the pics. it looks like their workmanship/quality is top and it's obvious this is not their first rodeo. Any ideas what a rig like that would cost? My guess would be 50 to 75 thousand dollars or more.

What do you think a chassis like the one posted above would cost?

By design its meant for an LS, TH400, and an Atlas. It can be modified easily to accept the factory Jeep drivetrain if desired and can be modified later just like a normal Jeep Wrangler.

Been eyeing one of these as the eventual end goal for my TJ. Wonder if they can have it take some sort of manual along with a V8. Also wonder if something like this can be made street legal (in the loosest sense of the word "legal").

Think it would be a lot of fun to have a V8 manual Jeep that can go do some fun stuff off-road and still head down to the grocery store on nice days.

Its WOD...if you can dream it, they can build it. A manual trans would be no issue

Keith Bailey, a Birmingham local Jeep shop owner who does the ultimate adventure every year with Peterson’s off-road magazine has an old school PSC chassis that he drives on the street.

This would not be ideal for long trips. But back roads to hit trails wouldn't be an issue down here in the South.
