Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

This is something I noticed last week. I had 3 sets of the rear window bar brackets and notice the difference sizes. Only the ones in the left are stock with the wider a lot for the bar.

Guess I'll have to order a pair if I can't find the original ones I took off.

Had to redo the other clamp since I'd forgotten that the heim I'm using is larger.

So waiting again for it to cool off.

As much as I would like to use the COOL 😎 TMR clamp this just makes more sense.

Sits nicely and is tucked up in there.

The clamp clears everything with no rubbing.

I'll of course cut the bolt off to just stick past the nut.

Full turn to turn with no rubbing or hitting.

I think I can route the hoses partly along the trackbar? As long as I leave enough slack for when the trackbar raises above the axle. I think I ordered some new fittings but if I did I don't know right now where I've put them. My old lines had 90* fittings on each end and this time I'm thinking I need two straights coming off the steering box and then 90*'s at the cylinder. Will have to play with it and see what will work.

Thanks to @FarFire70 recent posting about the Bolt Depot I've got all the bolts & set screws & jam nuts coming for cheaper than I could have gotten them from other places. This place is GREAT for sharing information and ideas.

Now I don't need to run into town tomorrow...

Glad to help! Completely agree - Enjoy learning from you and folks here on the forum!

Any time I can save you a trip into town means I get more progress posts. So in reality, it was entirely self-interest driven... ;)

I've been fighting a cold for the past week so decided to take a easy day of it.
Had a parcel to take to the post office with items my son had forgotten while he was visiting.

Then I tackled the soft uppers. I'd brought them and the frames inside last night.
I did find a new use for the shoe horn I use when putting my prosthetic foot into a stubborn boot.

Not sure what to think about having windows I can see out of.

But for being Smittybilt IMO they fit pretty good.

Wildwood proportioning valve arrived. Not sure it I'm going to need it or not. If not I'll return it.

Been trying to get a MoPar crankshaft position sensor and every time I order it then it's canceled so I got a NTK instead.

They've already shipped my order and I have a tracking number. Thanks again. Now I've got a new place to order fasteners and such from.

Hopefully you'll be seeing wheeling pictures soon instead of progress pictures..

We all love ❤️ new tools....
Based on recommendations from @NashvilleTJ and since I've been fighting getting my brake system bled I finally sprung for a good flaring tool set.

Then because @FarFire70 had to chastise me for not using the proper tool when chasing threads on my old clamp.

And I've been fighting getting my brake system bled properly so I decided I'd try one of the reversed bleeding kits out.

And to go along with the Wilwood proportioning valve I got a master cylinder with a 1 5/16" bore. It's off a P30 van and Hummvee with the same size calipers I'm using now.

The plan is to not change anything just yet but if needed I've got the parts and tools needed to redo things.
Until I can take it for a road test since replacing the rear calipers I won't know if I'll need to change things.

It's COLD and damp outside so I'm glad I've got a top on the Jeep now. I'm resisting turning on the heat in the garage yet.

I wouldn't say it was meant as chastising. I'm such a huge fan of rethreading kits - it was one of those 'where have you been all my life' when I was introduced to one.

Congrats - great tool adds all around! 🤤

Jeep looks great with the top on! Very different appearance - dare I say more civilized with the top on...

Well as I'd said before I knew about them but really had totally forgotten about them. Now just have to remember that I've got it and to use it instead of a tap & die. I'll never complain about buying new tools.

The rear brakes for my truck arrived early but the fronts aren't slated to arrive until Friday or Saturday. Not sure if It's going to be warm enough to do the brake job in the driveway or if the Jeep will have to be moved so I can squeeze the truck into the garage. I'd rather do it in the driveway where I've got more room.

Trying to decide what color I want to paint the steering assist clamp with. I've got enough of the Blue paint I'd done the winch with to do the clamp with or O can be more traditional and do it in Steel It Gray.

Thanks the Jeep is coming along. Not as fast as I was hoping/wanting but it's getting there.

I know I learned about the kits on here a while back and bought one. Completely forgot I had one until it was brought up in your thread.

Too cold to paint out in the garage so I brought the clamp inside. I painted it last night and then another coat this morning.
I'm thinking I don't want to paint the inside portion of the clamp? Will painting the inside area allow it to slide easier?
