Will JK wheels and 265/70R70 tires fit on my TJ?

So I have a stock 1997 jeep wrangler tj and I just got a set of jk wheels. I know that I am going to need adapters for them but I'm concern that the tire will damage or rip into my jeep. The tires are 265/70r 17. So any advice or answers will be very helpful.

That size tire equates to a 32" tall tire which is a little too tall to install/run successfully on a Wrangler without some sort of a suspension lift or body lift. It would rub on the fenders, especially offroad. A suspension lift lifts everything up up higher off the axles. A body lift just lifts the body up off the frame. A suspension lift is a better way to go but a 1" to 1.25" body lift (don't go with a taller body lift than that) would be less expensive.

You could inexpensively install a 1" body lift but better is a small suspension lift. A 2" suspension lift (2" taller springs + taller shocks) would be relatively inexpensive and easily installed.

You could also just do a budget boost using spacer pucks on the springs to get the room for the 32s while still keeping the stock ride. You will likely want to go to a slightly longer shock too, but that can wait until you set your new ride height and see how your shocks space out (uptravel/droop) with the pucks installed. 4.10s still work well with 32s, but any larger tire and you'll want to regear.
