Wrangler TJ 2.4 power tech engine compatibility

Hello .
The engine of my TJ 2004 is broken, it is a power tech 2.4 L . as far as I know there are many 2.4L engines, but I saw only one very similar to the TJ engine. I dont know if this engine is for Patriot , compass or commander. Seems like they are exactly the same, but I heard some sensors are not the same and they are on different positions, maybe because the engine position under hood or maybe something else. My question is: there are compatibility between those engines? thanx for your help and support.

The 2.4 was used in various platforms over the years, but my understanding is that there are a lot of variances in terms of sensors and other stuff. If you found a bare long block from something like a Patriot, you could probably swap all your sensors and stuff over, but I don't know enough about the 2.4 to know if it would work for sure. The best bet would be to find one from a 03-06 Jeep Wrangler using http://car-part.com

Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in here, as again, I know very little about the 4 cylinder models.
