Wranglerfixed

My WranglerFix PCM tune results:

05’ 42rle 4.56 35’s

First thing I noticed was the throttle response is improved. Peppy off the line.

Second thing is if I stay on the gas like normal it won’t downshift into OD when you get up to 40’ish mph. At that point, if you let off the gas it will then shift into OD. If you hit OD off then the rpm’s will go back up. This seems unchanged except it won’t automatically downshift right away, but see the fifth thing below.

Third thing is if I floor it off the line the rpm’s will jump up to 4500 and 0-40 is way smoother and faster than before. This is nice.

Fourth thing is I feel confident darting into traffic.

Fifth thing is if I stayed on the gas up to 62 mph when I got there my rpm’s were 3150. Awesome. 😎 Getting onto freeways from the on ramp should be a breeze.

Haven’t got up to 70+ yet.

there is nothing better than spending the time/energy/$$$ on a mod that puts a big ass smile on your face!

Okay, mine's a 4 bang'n 5 speed, but I'm actually able to hit 75+ easily either in 4th or 5th since my re-gearing. It's running better than it has ever run in its life due to Wranglerfix's PCM. Of course, auto trans is totally different. Sure wished I could send him my Hemi truck's PCM for a performance tune?

Ok I’ve driven it more and this is my analysis.

The throttle response is the fundamental improvement. This is all you need to know.

“If you ask her for it, she’ll give you what she can.”

Ran through second full tank of gas. Got 251 miles when the needle hit the red. Gas light didn't come on yet and I put 13.7gallons in.

Man that Jeep of yours is really knocking down some good mpg's. I see your mod list in your profile, what gearing are you running? I'm jealous! Maybe my wranglerfix pcm will net me some more mpg's once I get it!

Most of that stuff isn't installed yet. It's sitting in my garage waiting to go on.

Last update on my mpg. 3rd tank. Gas light just came on at 265 miles. Im getting 18mpg up from 15 ish max before. It's been consistently better every tank.

Try flooring it from 0-60mph. I watched my gauge drop 1/8 of a tank in those 13.5 seconds. I’ll do it again and video it, but someone needs to GoFundMe for these expensive ventures.

I've never floored my Jeep since the 50k miles I've had it. And I read a lot about how other people drive theirs and where the power band is and I'm over here driving miss daisy. 65 for 30 miles back and forth to work every day sometimes 80 ish on the interstate for a bit with the AC on.

Just filled up on the way home from work. 275 miles on the trip odometer. Put 14.5 gallons in. You do the math while I get the Guinness book of world records on the phone. This makes me want to buy that LJ I've always wanted even more. At this rate I might even consider a yellow one.

I should add that when I floored it the rpm’s went up to 4500 and never dipped under 3150 on my way up to 80mph. 42rle, 35’s 4.56, wranglerfix pcm and tune. Never flipped the OD switch.

Wait. 4:56? W 35’s? I’m being pushed to 5:38 with everything I read around here.

I'm trying very hard not to let all these builds trick me into 35's! But if i just happen to do a bbk kit, hydro assist, mid arm and some 5.38s...
who knows what the next set of tires could be!

It will be interesting to see what you do...I suspect you'll go further. Let me try to deter you. Sometimes I wish I was back on 33's just for the better geometry and ease of ingress. Plus, with 35's I know where I could put another $10k right now (BBK, Hydro Steering, MidArm, Stretch, Outboard). 35s right is no joke...

I think lj tub or tj6 is the next big mod.it gets interesting going camping with a rottweiler and all the gear. But bbk is right there with it.
