Yeah, It's Worth It...

On the way to work this morning a guy in a brand new Bronco pulled up next to me at a red light. I wasn't really paying attention to him but out of the corner of my eye I saw him waving his hands. I looked over at him and he was giving me a thumbs-up with a big grin on his face, then he pointed at my mildly built and somewhat trail-worn LJ and yelled "Sweet!" I waved a "thank you" to him and returned my own thumbs-up to his squeaky clean new ride. The light turned green and we each went on our respective ways, both of us smiling. Made my morning commute a little easier to deal with.

I sometimes question if my Jeep build is worth the money and effort I put into it, but episodes like the one I had this morning make it a lot easier to keep going with it. Here's hoping all of you are enjoying your Jeeps as much as I am enjoying mine.

Sounds like the guy can appreciate a nice rig when he see's one! I hope to get a compliment or two when mine's finally done. It's been torn apart for 7 years now and I've wanted to throw in the towel so many times when things went wrong, but it's so close to being done I can almost feel the wind blowing into the doorless cab again. Enjoy your time in your jeep, time passes too quickly.

I enjoy driving mine a lot. But if a new anything pulled up beside me, I don't give it a second look.
Now if a EB, early Blazer or early TLC pulled up, I would give them a smile and

Next time you see him, be sure and yell "Nice Jeep!" Bronco and FJ guys just love that!!!

A LJ with battle scars and pin striping always gets the nod.

Usually it's the JKU crowd and you can see in their face the appreciation of a vehicle getting proper use which turns to fear as they look back over their pristine build in fear of such happening to theirs.

Oddly enough I get the nod from Land Cruiser folks too, which is cool as I do love an 80 series.

I don’t have much respect for Bronco’s, Scouts, FJ’s, Land Rovers, or Tacoma’s, though I respect those who drive them. It’s their choice. Some are built capable, but it’s the TJ in particular that has my attention as far as best platform, aftermarket support, affordability and uniqueness.

Happened to me the Other day while at the drive-through with my wife…. Young girl says “hey man, sweet jeep”… Wife thinks it’s cool when the old guys are commenting on the jeep but when its the young girls commenting she don’t think that’s too “sweet”…
