Need advice for Dana 44 high pinion with three Inch tubes for front axle build

Just for fun I wonder if the Diff can be machined to accept the 3 inch tubes, i may look around for a 2.75 HPD44 and try it. Might be a good way to have a spare or two if something grenades the housing it would aslo be cool to see whats needed to do a Rear Dana 44 Housing to Accept full floaters I am going to look at that also

Warn USE to offer a full floater kit. They stopped making them which SUCKS. There are a few ways to go about making your own kit.

I would think the HP44 housing could be machined out since I really doubt they made more than one casting of these housings.

Yep his HP44 build just about matches mine right now.

Edit: BUT he is saying to use the JK R&P for a HP44 which doesn't work since the JK larger R&P is only for the rear and not the front. Which is why instead you use the Jana 54 which uses the D50 R&P instead. This still gives you 44% increase in strength.
I'd have to look again but I thought you had to make room either way JK or dana 50. And I thought they both increased the strength 44%. I think he recommended the JK for aftermarket support like installing a locker. It's been a while since I watched that video.

At first it was thought that the JK front R&P was larger like the rear R&P but at some point they discovered it wasn't. So then it went back to using the D50 R&P. And yes both R&P are larger so you have to do some grinding to the housing to make it fit.

I'm not sure what lockers he's talking about that ONLY fit a JK R&P over a standard Dana 44 carrier. ARB makes a 35 spline locker for the D50 R&P so IMO if this is what you are trying to build then it doesn't matter if there are other lockers.

ARB Part No. RD 147 is the 35 Spline Locker for the front diff

Not 100% search but it would seem for a Old School Dana 44 it's ARB or OX for a 35 spline locker. I didn't look to see what was offered for the JK type housing.
