True for the TC if using the stock linkage. However, a BL should have 0 effect on transmission shifting unless maybe you're talking extreme BLs.
Since we're talking about this - I'll ask the question that nobody seems to have an answer for, but maybe something's changed. If/when I need to rebuild mine, I'd be *VERY* interested in the so-called "Wide Ratio" version - apparently used on Diesel Libertys or some such. It has a deeper 1st and 2nd gear. Are the parts to accomplish this available, or are they unobtainium?

2005 had those issues. My 2006 has zero shifting issues.
After a 1.25" BL and a 1" MML, my shifter was contacting the console in 2nd and reverse. I ran for a while with the plastic boot retainer trim removed until I did my tuck which brought it back out of interference.
That's more news than I've been able to find out - it would be unfortunate if true, but you're probably right!I thought I'd read somewhere that there were parts involved that weren't interchangeable or compatible with their mating parts from the other model. Can't find it now though, and i don't think it was on this forum.
I suspect the only real way to find out is going to be by purchasing both and trying it.
FWIW, mine still sounds like a box of rocks when idling with the clutch released, just as it did before the repairs. NSG370 is just a noisy box.
Pix?I also added a barbed hose fitting to the shift tower and extended the vent to the top of the firewall. I saw a picture of the exact same mod on a forum but I can't find it now to give credit where due.

Everything is back together so it might be tough to get a good view and a new pic but I'll try.

Cool! So what was there originally?It turns out the rubber trans tunnel cover appears to be touching my hose fitting so I'll be taking that back off to trim a bit. Should be able to get a good pic from the top side.

Ah! Ok - I figured there was a pre-existing vent that you had extended. Did you remove the shift tower to do it?Nothing was there. I drilled and tapped a new hole. Like I said, I saw this exact mod somewhere but I can't find it now. There is a somewhat similar mod that shows up in my searches but it includes some copper pipe fittings and looks somewhat cobbled together IMO.
The hard part was making sure the metal chips didn't go where they shouldn't while drilling and tapping.
