Should I fix my head gasket or sell my Jeep?

I bought a 4.0 from S&J engines and had a shop swap it in for $3,300 total. My jeep had 175,000 on the clock when I decided to do that (Head gasket failed on me too).

maybe he likes a sore ass in the morning ! to be politically correct i have to say "not that there's anything wrong with that" :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: because he's going to have to get a bushing in his ass after their done ! he never did say if it's a 4 or 6cyl ?

4 cylinder? I barely know her!

I replaced my head with a clearwater due to a crack. cost me a total of 700ish to do it myself and the necessary "tools" I "needed" for the job...unless you have no clue on what you are doing, don't have the time, or don't have the space, then I would take it somewhere and pay whatever you deem necessary to get it fixed. But yes, 3700 is a lot of money to replace a head gasket

that's crazy! I got a rebuilt from Jasper and had a shop swap it in. It was 6k, the engine was 3,500 labor was 1,500 and miscellaneous expenses was 1k including hoses, oil, coolant, new battery and accessories etc. and taxes

Had the head gasket go on my tj and xj at about the same time. Weekend replacement gasket on the xj and then got the tj ported and polished. I was told I wouldn't see much gain unless I stroked it to. So off to the machine shop for cleaning and assembly for under 2k. Did it all with my jeep tool bag as we had just moved in and out of an apartment with a single garage.

My Jeep Wrangler's head gasket needs replaced. It also caused leaks in the heater core and water pump. Both of those will need to be replaced as well. The shop quoted me 3,700 to fix. My Wrangler has 175,000 miles, and the body is in good shape. Should I fix or sell?
You are being way overcharged. I would like to see a breakdown of the labor/material costs.

Any noticeable difference with the ported head?
