Anyone have this dash multi-mount with the Cell Phone holder?

I like to keep my cell phone in a visible place while traveling, and have a bit larger storage on the dash location. I was wondering how the cell phone attaches to the mount? Is there anything you have to mount to the back of your phone, or does it have some kind of grappling claw?

If anyone has a better solution, let me know!

I believe that’s the one I have. It has a spring loaded clamp that holds the phone. I like it overall. Can use it for navigation or turn it and use as a dash cam.

FYI my phone has popped out of the arm a few time. 97 TJ with 31” duratracs and Bilstein 4600

I have had one of these installed for over a year now and I love it! I will snap some pictures once I get out of work.

Very easy install. 5-10 minutes tops. Some double sided 3M tape comes with it, along with 3 screws to go into the stock tray (remove the rubber insert in the stock tray). In the event that you don't like it, you can take the screws out and cover the holes with the stock rubber tray insert.

But no special mount is required for your phone. The phone mount claw is spring loaded and holds very well for daily use. If you're jeep is mainly used off road then I'd recommend getting a phone case with rubber on the sides to make the grip more secure. My life proof case doesn't move at all going 30+ on bumpy dirt roads/trails but without a case it would likely wiggle out. Not gonna test it.

Overall great product and I'm really happy with it. Allows you to rotate the phone 90 degrees and use the phone as a screen or GPS. Phone mount can also be removed and replaced with a GoPro if you're into recording Jeep videos.

Definitely recommend.

That's great help Don! I was hoping I could use it on the trails to snap a few vids (don't have a GoPro, so they'll be inferior), as well as for GPS navigation and just a place to place the phone while listening to music, rather than my pocket or a cupholder. The upper storage space is too small, so this should solve that too, and provide a more secure place for sunglasses, et. al. Also good to know you can ditch it and just replace with the stock rubber pad if you get tired of it! I don't like making holes in the dash area.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was looking to get out of it. Didn't want to be fiddling for my phone to change a song or map something out. I just rest it in the mount when I get in and I'm good to go.

Upper storage doesn't get much bigger, but it's definitely deeper and keeps your sunglasses or whatever you toss in there secure. I used to be concerned about keeping my glasses case up there when the windows were down but now it doesn't move.

And yeah the ability to take it all off and not have a bunch of holes in the dash is a big plus for me!

When I get home from work I'll have to post a pic of what I grabbed at Walmart. It's a mount that is 3m taped into the holder on top of dash and a magnet that attaches to back of phone. With a case on you have no idea a magnet is attached to phone. Works very well. I like to have my phone in that spot for GPS purposes and toggling my pandora.

Bring on the pics!

Hit this nice little milestone on my way home so I figured I'd share that too! 160k club

I'm leaning towards the mob armor mount. Pricey but nothing required on back of phone and supposedly will hold up to off-roading.

I gotta quit drivin her...too many miles LOL. I can't remember the brand of the mount, but it's very minimal and phone doesn't move at all over bumps or anything. Was like 15 bucks so I said what the hell.

I had one but returned it...I didn't love that it was not totally flush with the dash there. You can see the corners aren't flush in the pic Don_L posted...its hit or miss. It sucks too cause I badly wanted to relocate my GPS from windshield to this dash area.

Yep, good eye. I see now. Might get a good one!

I have the exact one also and am very happy with the overall use, I used some extra double sided tape and plastic screws to keep it from vibrating at higher speeds. Also you can turn the phone holder over and it sits in front of the vents instead of obstructing your view.

Good idea. Turning it upside down during daily use might be the clincher to buying it! Thanks!

Scoshe I have two of them on the dash to hold my phone, there are slightly cheaper knockoffs on Amazon but these are in Walmart and work great I use different ones in multiple vehicles

There is a new gadget out that you can use to mount a phone in a jeep. I have issues with mounting my phone where it will block any of my view out the windshield. I have eyed the spot above the rear view mirror on the blank trim. But I had no way to utilize the space until now.

This video will explain;

I soften the plastic to get a good flat spot for the glue on back. This position is GREAT for me.
