Which clutch fan wrench?

I just use a big crescent wrench, as above. I also use a big strap wrench to hold and prevent the pulley from rotating while I pull on the crescent wrench.

The large one fits the water pump pulley.

The ones that hold the bolt heads are frustrating because the bolt heads (at least on my 04) don’t protrude enough to use that kind easily. I’d go for a strap wrench. I ended up loosening mine by the impact of smacking the wrench pretty hard several times. Unless you really want to buy one, parts stores have loaner fan clutch wrenches.

The two bolts it attaches to are removed first and passed through it. :)

I have done the crescent wrench and the strap wrench and the hit a wrench with a hammer and it's all hit and miss. You will eventually run into a tough one and get stuck. I bought a kit like this one and never looked back. Well worth the $$$.

I've been thinking about one of these, but I just hit the nut with an air chisel and one quick burst of the trigger. Comes loose every time!

The best tools are the ones you make yourself.

I love it! I did the same thing. I wasn't nearly as precise as you. Obviously my first guess for the second hole was a bit off. It ain't pretty but it only took about 5 minutes to make. Quicker than going to the store or placing an online order.

HA! My first guess for the 2nd hole was a bit off as well - so I tossed that one in the scrap pile and started over! :ROFLMAO: The measurement I ended up with is ⅜" holes on 2¼" centers for those following along at home...

I'm glad I made it - store boughten ones seemed to be either atrociously overpriced and/or cheesy as Hell.

I made one with just one hole drilled in it. You only need to remove one bolt reinstall it through the hole finger tight, and then just rotate the bar to the next bolt head to stop it from turning. I also use a 15" crescent wrench on the clutch fan.
