Well guys, it was nice while it lasted. I sold my TJ a couple days ago. I really loved driving that thing. I just didn't feel it was reliable enough and because of that I rarely took long wheeling trips. The thought of breaking down a hundred miles from home was unsettling. A trip to Moab was never going to happen....until now. I will be picking up my 2022 TRD Off Road Premium next week.

I appreciate all the help I received from the Forum. You guys truly know your sh!t and without the support I probably wouldn't have lasted as long as I did.

Good luck with the new ride. Taint nothing like dreading a breakdown in the middle of BFE. The Taco should give years of trouble free miles.

A couple years ago, I was puttering around offroad around Zion Nat'l Park in a JLU Sahara, and had to drive around a TRD that couldn't make it over a 15 inch high step. I just smiled and waved as the Jeep effortlessly rolled on by...

I feel the same with mine, may be its an age thing? The older you get the more you know what could go wrong with an older vehicle ahead of time, I even pay $350 a year for Auto club country miles breakdown/recovery service but still wont take it too far.
Do TJ,s break down? Yes all the time, is the TJ 4.0 bullet proof? No! just read all these forum problem pages alongside those on the net. No different to any 20 year old vehicle with a computer running that of which run itself with just 3 things, air fuel spark.
Many may disagree but they are now a Toy not a DD nor a good choice for a long road trips.

The current state of tires that are on mine is the only hesitation I have to jumping in and driving distance. (other than the fact the TJ beats me up WAY more than the JT)
