And a couple hours later, at an AMC Jeep show about 2 hrs from my house, What did I see? A Jeep from both before and after AMC owned them.
All I know is that the wiper blades stopped hanging down in either 1967 or 1968.
I'm definitely not sure about that engine but it's not a 258 or 4.2 or whatever AMC called their straight sixes near the end.
It's hard to say what the gas tank is from but I see no evidence of a fuel pump on the top. The gas cap and the vent filter are a nice touch and FWIW, the black circular plastic thingy is still on the back of the driver side headlight that fell out on the drive there.
It arrived about two hours after trophies were handed out but was awarded the last one. The award was going to happen at last year's show but that Jeep never made it due to mechanical issues.
Here's a close up of the trophy. I heard that the trophy was specifically made for this Jeep because there couldn't be a challenger. Yes it was updated.
Just to show that no one was really denied that trophy, here was the second worse Jeep in the show. It's hardly a Hunk of Shit of any size, just a little patina with a decent lift.
