What did you do to your TJ today?

Started removing AC components. Had the compressor lock up on me last fall and have had too many life events going on since to dedicate any time to fixing it. First time working on AC stuff, so it will be a learning experience. As of right now, I've got a new compressor, condenser, accumulator, and new gaskets. Also got the flushing tool to flush the lines.

How much did you have to shell out for the converter? Mine is gutted and I’ve been thinking of replacing it for shits and giggles

Long story long, I pulled this cat off a buddy’s XJ that he rolled after having it installed only a few weeks prior.
I live in the sweet free state of California where everything has to be carb compliant and was looking at cats that cost upwards of $500.
Found plenty on eBay and Amazon that work for the 4.0 that only cost $100 but all the sellers refused to ship to me in California.
It worked out in the end

I think I did, but in case I didn't, it's the Noice 80mil insulation and the OEM (Overly Expensive Mopar) weather strip piece. I'm still looking for the carpet that will be glued to the insulation for a finished look.

Edit: Noico. (Wow!!! How’d that slip by me?!?!)

I’m sorry for your living in California 🇺🇸 Lol

I was feeling lazy and decided to contact a local shop that does wraps. I just need to cover the bad "dried bug guts" paint from the PO. I bought the 3M 2080 gloss flame red vinyl (same thing they use) for under $30. I'm just doing the windshield frame and hood cowl. Their email quote gave me a huge laugh/shock. 😬
p.s. I don't feel that lazy anymore. I just needed some motivation.

"Thanks for confirming.
Cost to wrap the hood cowl and windshield frame would be $800.
We are booking new appointments for late July at the moment, and we do require a 50% deposit at time of scheduling.
Please let me know if you have questions.'

I got my windshield frame and tailgate PAINTED for $400. I did most of the prep.

New rear bumper. I know some people are not fans of metalcloak.
The price was right and had the features I want. So I’m happy with it.

They accidentally sent me two passenger side frame tie-in brackets so I’ll have to install that once they ship it out to me.

Gained a ton of departure angle. Especially since I removed the low hanging U-Haul hitch that the previous owner had installed.

Curious - Does the bumper utilize the bottom bolts which go up into the frame rails?

It does not. A bit of an oversight on my part when I purchased it. They were running a sale and it fits squarely into my budget so I jumped on it. I have been looking at rear bumpers in this style for a while and I must’ve just had them mixed up in my head.

i’m still very happy with it though. Especially for my use cases.

it wasn’t until after the fact that I realized I did not have those mounting points. I may see about welding in a couple brackets. Well, having my brother-in-law weld in a couple brackets for me.

Thanks - good to know. All depends on how you wheel it. If you tend to be dragging the ass end off of rock ledges, I can see it peeling up a bit. But if not, you are good to go.

Had to reorder my tail lights , this time from Amazon . Got them in 3 days and I had been waiting a month for the ones from eBay. I guess they where lost in the mail. Got 4 of them for about the same price I had paid for 2. Ordered as soon as they refunded the others. Smoke lens , 12 led's , nice.
