OME coil springs

What springs would you use on a stock tj 4.0 with a soft top? I want it to be level as possible
I’d probably go with the OME light duty springs in the rear, unless you are planning to add a heavy rear bumper, larger spare, heavy loads for camping or over landing. In that case I might go with the heavy duty and leave out the 10mm spacer. You can always nuance things later, add a spacer here, subtract a spacer there. That’s what spacers are for. Typically, due to the 1” rake, a 3”/2” combo would get you close. But the real answers come by knowing your sprung and unsprung weight. That’s more difficult, but the real solution.

so just go heavies in the front and light in the back? And thanks for the reply.

Do you have a winch and aftermarket steel bumper in the front? The more weight you put up there the less lift you get. There is also a relationship be how much lift you have in the rear (ie the rake). Trying to get it exactly like you want it the first time without knowing and understanding a lot is unlikely.

That said, A lot of people have been happy with 2933/2941 combo. I’d get the front 10mm spacers and if you need them, you need them. If not, send them back.

No my tj is stock and I don’t plan on adding anything else to it.

Get the light springs. Even with a winch. The only negative is you may lose 1/2" of lift. A spacer can fix that. But a heavier spring will lessen suspension movement. You want as soft and supple a suspension as possible. Too flexy for you? Just switch to a firmer shock to control the spring better.

Springs depend on whether the Jeep is a LJ or not, also whether a hardtop is used. Here's the screenshot from ARBs TJ application guide, you can also find it here:

I have LJ hardtop, bumpers, winch, heavy tires, and adding a roofrack. I went with the 34/49 combo.

The 2932 and 2933 front springs have the same spring rate. The 2933 is just slightly taller probably to have the same lift height with more weight up front. They make a heavier rated front spring for those with a lot of weight up front and/or wilder faster driving style. IIRC the rears have 3 different spring rates. The 2933/2941 combo probably levels out stance so there is no rake.

For what it’s worth, I just installed the 2” HD OME lift kit on my 03 Rubicon. I have a light steel bumper in front, 33”‘s all around, and 33” spare. Ended up with 2.5” in front, 2.1” in rear, but for me it actually leveled out my Jeep, given how shot the suspension was before.

I chose this lift in combination with several other suspension upgrades, and did everything all at once...(front/rear track bars, upper/lower control arms, driveshafts…) the results were amazing. Specific to the ride…it took 2 weeks for the lift to settle in and stop beating me to death, as I was not carrying my typical load out during the break in period. After 2 weeks, I really started to appreciate how well tuned the shocks are, and just how well they really ride once carrying the load they are intended to carry.

What were the numbers of the springs, 2933 front/2942 rear or 2934 front/2949 rear or some other combination???

After market bumper and winch. OME offers the same spring in both light load and heavy load, same size.

Get the heavy if you've got extra stuff like that on it.

If you look into it the difference in spring rate between the two isn't very much. I got the heavy just in case of future mods and mine is stock. No issues.

It has absolutely nothing to do with driving style. The various combinations of rates and lengths are only there to create a ride height.
