What did you do to your TJ today?

So Installed the new Radiator with a flush, New pads and rotors and rewarded myself with a refreshing cold beer. Went on a test drive and returned home to a fresh puddle of brake fluid on the garage floor. Fck. It seems my crusty brake line in the right side decided to spring a leak. New Stainless lines on order.

But at least your radiator looks great (y)

Today I got the front axle all set/centered and aligned. Boring stuff
But I did mark the end of an era for the ol girl. I took off what may be the last of the stuff that made my jeep a “Tomb Raider” edition (besides the back seat and 2 tone dash)
When I bought it new back in 03’ I didn’t want a Tomb Raider, but I did like the color and I had a VW bug I just repo’ed and I really didn’t want that. It was hard to find a rubicon back then and the dealership had 2 of these that they couldn’t off load so I got it for the same as a standard rubicon, so I traded in the stink bug for it.
The day after I bought it, off came the light bar since I really didn’t like it. Over the following weekend I decided I wanted some rock lights and being broke but having the lights from the light bar I remounted them under the jeep.
Today they came off. Funny thing is for as bad of shape there in they all still work haha.

Figured out where to punch yet another hole through the firewall for the vacuum and air pressure gauge lines. Connected the vacuum gauge. 2 problems: 1) I connected it on the downstream side of the check valve - which I figured wouldn't work well - and it doesn't; and 2) The damn gauge hisses!

Why not come through the rubber grommet on the driver's side above the accelerator pedal?

I got the rear axle and suspension all dialed in. I cut and rewelded my track bar on the frame end so that the bend goes flat and toward the center of the Jeep which keeps it clear of any obstruction. I swapped in some new Currie coils that with the help of a 10mm spacer got me exactly 5” of uptravel on some 11” travel shocks. Good news is that my bumpstop maxes out with my shocks perfectly and my tire has about the thickness of a sheet of paper before it rubs on the fender flare.

I’m hoping once I swap this smittybilt bumper and add on a bumper plate like from genright or Barnes that it’ll lighten up the rear enough to get me closer to a 5.25-5.5” uptravel number.

Now just gotta get my front axle swap finished up (should have about 5.5”-5.75” of uptravel on a 12” travel shock) and a JB SSYE done with new driveshafts.
