How do I strap my TJ to a trailer?

100%…sure that this is pointless.

You are normally a bit faster on the uptake. Willful ignorance is to the mind what rust is to a rig. You can replace, coerce, cajole, beat, heat, and smash bits of it into submission but at the end of the day, you still have a rusty pile of shit. It shouldn't have taken you 11 pages to figure that one out.

And I'm now 100% sure you have no answer. Calling out my numbers as wrong and offering nothing is your only skillset to date. I'll agree this is pointless when you have demonstrated you have nothing to contribute. Carry on...

Don’t be a dip shit, that’s your picture, you take the measurements and do the math if you want to know ’cause I really don’t care.

I know I just wanted to parade his ignorance about so no one would take him serious.

What about 4 straps per axle instead of tire nets? 2 pulling rearward, 2 pulling forward? Am I missing something or would that be just as gentle on the joints?

Also, thoughts on loading the suspension inside an inclosed trailer so it doesn't bust up the roof?

Use an inflatable giraffe on top as a cushion for the roof.

And don't be a jackass, jackass. That picture was a generic internet offering for illustration only. If you really didn't care then why question my numbers? We all know the reason...you can't help being a total jackass and you are at a loss for words. If you are going to quote me you better have something to back it up.

maybe some smaller junkyard wheels just for transport? you have to pin it almost all the way down to keep it from bouncing. if it does bounce all the connected parts would be subjected to constant shocking, no?

I had the Jeep in first gear and the emergency brake on. So I don't think it was an issue.

Perfect is the enemy of really good.

4 wheels blocked, a chain, two 4" straps up front and an emergency brake later and we were good.

Don't skimp on your straps with HF crap or add 2 more. Either way works. The pros can hook up fast, the goobers fast, the cautious slow with too many tie downs.

So the plastic chocks are just for looks.

No. The chances of the Jeep pulling the chain off the trailer, breaking the two front straps, popping out of gear, overcoming the brakes, and crushing 4 wheel chocks in either direction is not zero.

It may have occured as we plummeted to our deaths after going off the side of the roads through the Colorado mountains. The truck woul probably get scratched up and the stuff we stored in the bed tossed around Colorado too.

Buy 8 metal wheel chocks if you think 8 plastic RV chocks aren't enough. Or make your own.

Like I said for everything in the first paragraph to happen SHTF for other reasons. Not because of the plastic wheel chocks.

An automatic in park with the brake set isn't likely to move much. The tie down is to make sure it doesn't. Blocking the wheels does more. If a chain or strap came loose, blocking the wheels is one more insurance.

Plastic chocks will not stop a vehicle from moving on a trailer. If they give you peace of mind, that's close to the maximum usefulness they will provide in that application

Whatever you think, it's fine by me. I use them to keep the Jeep from moving when I rotate tires and do stuff.

You know what they say; A fool and his money are soon parted but a fool and his opinion are stuck together for life.

I would agree on that in your case. All the childish snide remarks brand you for what you really are.

I've noticed over the years on various forums the complete lack of civility and inability by many to be able to carry on a debate without resorting to crude behaviour. Most keyboard warriors and wannabes would not dare talk to someone's face the way they type things out in a forum...tells you a lot about what they really are. I don't need to be here and I'm certainly not going to respond to every punk's crude and unintelligible remark. I'll go back and erase all my posts (if able)...seems some moderator has already erased replies from others that I responded to. Have a wonderful time in your forum and slap each other on the back...well done.

Test them first before you trust them. We had some, I stuck them under the rear tires, forgot they were there and backed up over them. Ruint them fully.

These we're for RVs so they were stout. But we didn't rely on them, they were one extra thing. 3,600 miles on the trailer through the rockies and nothing moved.

But I will probably try some other methods shown here to see if it's easier. Maybe not crossing straps. 😀
