Once upon a time I did, until I realized how toxic Facebook is, and how it's systematically destroying people's social lives and the internet as a whole. Now I won't touch it and never will again. I'm 110% done with any form of social media.

Totally agree. My family had me thinking I was the only person left without it. She texted me a link she had shown me and when I posted it on another thread it was pointed out I was in fact not the only one.

If you actually listen to what he's saying and think about the way people interact with Facebook, he's dead on accurate. It's reprogramming people to respond to likes, reactions, comments, etc. I had Facebook for 7 years before I ditched it completely, and I know what it feels like to be addicted to that satisfaction you get when people like your photo, comment on it, etc.
Everyone else who is sucked into it would read that and think, "no way that's me", but it really is. People are so sucked into it that they've forgotten how to socialize in real life.
So there are some of us that aren't on Facebook and want nothing to do with it, but they're hard to find.
What blows my mind is that people are giving Facebook all their information, "checking in" to wherever they're currently at, posting photos of their family (including their kids), their possessions, etc. It just shocks me that people assume that because their profile is "private" that that must mean no one else can see it... pshhh... yeah right.

I have a Facebook account but only to link my blog posts to it, since it is a good marketing tool. But I don't use it for anything else.
I do, sparingly. Mostly for our union page, which of course, has work/union biz. Didn't use it before then.
I found the same stuff in my research. Both wife and I have been freed from that slavery for 6 years. Besides, I don’t care if you are eating at McDonalds, except it confirms you are a moron.
Now, Assbook I might join.

Never had it. Never will. I see my wife get all twisted up about comments she sees on that thing, and I have to wonder why anyone would subject themselves to "listening" to so many people rant about things, or read their snide comments. Hell, it seems like she doesn't even know half the people. I just don't get it. This forum is the first thing I've really become involved with, and I read a lot of threads on here long before I committed to joining. At first, I didn't "like" any of the comments, because I thought it was a little goofy (sorry, guys). But eventually I started feeling almost guilty, as others were "liking" some of the things I had posted. I decided there wasn't anything so weird about acknowledging that you had an appreciation for something someone posted, and I started participating in it. Now I find that there is a certain satisfaction in it. So, if I can just get 100 "likes" to this comment.........(just kidding!).

Someone replied recently that they 'liked' one of my posts, just so they could get the satisfaction of unliking it...

I do believe I saw that one! Can't remember who it was, but it made me laugh...
I maintain several Facebook pages for non-profits and other entities, but myself, I only use it to spy on my kids
