Snow...

So all this talk about snow has me thinking that you guys out west might like to share in the midwesterner's misery. I've removed snow from my driveway every day this week. We've probably gotten 18-20" so far.

This is my back deck. I keep it clear so the dogs don't track it in. Haven't touched the railings or the table. At a certain depth, the snow starts to compress from the snow on top, so we've gotten more than what is represented...

I know this doesn't compare to the UP (I lived there for a while), but I'm close enough to Lake MI to get lake effect snow. We'll probably end up with between 80 - 100 inches this season, total.

We've been getting hammered here in Oshkosh for a few days now. Not quite as bad as you but it's picking up.

Sunny and a high of 63 forecasted for the day. I don’t miss Michigan’s winters. I do miss a little bit of snow for Christmas Day, but I’m willing to forgo that Novelty for a shovel free winter. If I want snow I can spend 4 hours and drive east up to Lake Tahoe to ski or cross country ski or snow show.

We got about 7" overnight a few days ago, which is very unusual at this time of the year. December has been relatively warm and snow-free the past few years but looks like it finally decided to pour it on.

I finally got to test out the 4x4 capabilities and traction of my 99 4runner. Let me say this with complete honesty that the 4runner is more capable in snow than my jeeps and that surprised me. I could slip and slide and purposely get stuck in the jeeps but not with the 4runner. It just WANTS to go and gets traction one way or the other even in 2wd. I am not sure if there is an open diff traction device back there but I know it has a rear locker that was not activated. That thing is a beast.

The same Goodyear Authority tires that were on both Jeeps. I have an addiction to that tire.
