2 inch body lift after 4 inch suspension lift?

First time jeep owner here. It’s been 13 months.

I have a 4 inch suspension lift currently in my Tj. Was thinking of adding 2 inch body lift as well. I am switching from 33’s to 35’s and a little extra room and ease of access to clean the underside and add undercoating would be good.

I have a drop transfer case already installed, and my break lines are extended. (Picture is before the new suspension settled about 1-2 inches).

Will I have issues adding a 2 inch body lift? Or will there be complications of things not lining up.

The usual 1.25" is a compliment to the common 1" motor mount lift. More body lift means more fussiness than there already will be.

Aluminum body lift pucks are best. Good luck finding one in a 2".

1.25” max. Not only is it all you need for 35’s, but anything more looks awful and causes the fuel fill tube to be too short, etc...

Most here are going to recommend you not go over 1- 1.25” on the body lift. 4” of suspension, and 1.25” of body lift, is a pretty common lift combination to successfully run 35s.

From what I’ve read on here, stay away from the poly and go with a solid aluminum puck.

A SYE kit and a 1” motor mount lift are probably in order as well. Depending on driveline vibes and your intended use.

I’d also add that a 1.25” BL is a great mod. It enables you to a) better clear your spare at the rear bumper, b) do a free gas tank skid tuck of 1.25”, c) clear bigger tires and d) do a tummy tuck.

Avoid 2-3" body lifts which just cause problems like t-case and transmission shifting. A 1-1.25" is as tall of a body lift as you want.

Thanks all. Looks like I’ll do a 1.25 aluminum body lift. Perhaps a motor mount at the same time or later.

Plan on the extended MML at the same time or you will need to move the fan shroud up the same 1.25", you'll have your jacks and stands out anyway ,might as well do it all. If you run a manual tranny there will be some work to do on your shifter shaft afterwards as it will hit the bezel around the shift boot in 2nd, 4th, 6th and especially reverse.

Don’t want to have to open this back up but, I bought an 04 TJ today and it came with a 2” body lift already on it. Every forum I read said don’t go more than 1.25 but that’s too late for this case. Am I going to run into issues if I get a lift of any size? Is it unsafe?

What size tires are you on ? Yea don’t lift it. Body lifts are the cheapest way to fit tires but you got to rotate your axels to see what will fit

I want to run 33, what’s currently on there. I also wanted to have 4” total lift. Was thinking either add 2” suspension, or 4” now because eventually want to take off the BL.

dude i absolutely love your jeep, like that’s my final results when i get there. so you said you have a 4in lift but do you have 33’s or 35’s
